When comparing 2004 to 2014, the number of injectable treatments in Australia has more than doubled. Breast augmentation and rhinoplasty are the most popular cosmetic surgical procedures year-on-year and the demographic, at least in Australia, is becoming younger.
Many cosmetic surgeons and nurses have noted that since the Kardashian tv shows, an increasing number of patients under 25 blithely seek injectable treatments. Not blithely in a negative way; it’s that they understand the impermanence of injectables: with one 18 year old comparing it to having your hair coloured.
The important thing is to be educated and to have realistic expectations of what the treatment can do for you. Knowing fillers have a short shelf life is important: knowing breast augmentation and rhinoplasty can only change so much is part of what makes treatment successful.
